The “CERDAS” project exists with a strong determination to advocate for the elimination of all forms of discrimination against women, including in sexual and reproductive health rights and access. We are trying to support the government, through the relevant ministries, to formulate a more effective work plan in implementing the CEDAW Committee recommendations.
We believe that this support is very important, especially after the Indonesian government passed Law no. 7 of 1984, which recognizes the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW). With this step, the Indonesian government has officially committed to following the principles of CEDAW, which include the protection of women’s rights.
