This project aims to improve the quality and innovation of reproductive health services, especially related to miscarriage. We conducted trials in Ponorogo (East Java), Klaten (Central Java), and Yogyakarta City by strengthening the health system through a series of training and guidance for health service providers, as well as establishing a referral network between services and the community.
During the project implementation period (2017-2020), the IPAS Indonesia Foundation together with partners succeeded in achieving significant achievements:

  • Compiling a National Guidebook for Post-Miscarriage Care (APK) which is supported by the Directorate of Family Health, Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, and the Indonesian Obstetrics and Gynecology Association.
  • Carrying out APK-related training in 13 partner health facilities involving 9 obstetricians, 21 general practitioners and 54 midwives.
  • Developed a comprehensive, evidence-based APK Clinical Protocol Guide in 7 hospitals/clinics that was approved by the director of the relevant facility.
  • Reaching 433 actors of change in the field of reproductive health, with 91% of them being women.

This achievement reflects the project’s significant impact in improving the quality and innovation of reproductive health services, particularly related to miscarriage, in the region.
