This project aims to improve the quality and innovation of reproductive health services, particularly related to miscarriage. We piloted in Ponorogo (East Java), Klaten (Central Java), and Yogyakarta City by strengthening the health system through a series of trainings and mentorship for health service providers, as well as establishing a referral network between services and communities.
During the project implementation period (2017-2020), IPAS Indonesia Foundation and partners achieved significant achievements:

  • Developed the National Guidebook for Post Miscarriage Care (APK) supported by the Directorate of Family Health of the Indonesian Ministry of Health, and the Indonesian Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
  • Conducted APK-related training in 13 partner health facilities involving 9 obstetricians, 21 general practitioners, and 54 midwives.
  • Develop evidence-based comprehensive APK Clinical Protocol Guidelines in 7 hospitals/clinics authorized by the relevant facility directors.
  • Reached 433 actors of change in reproductive health, of which 91% were women.
This achievement reflects the project’s significant impact in improving the quality and innovation of reproductive health services, particularly related to miscarriage, in the region.
